All cancellations must be submitted through our platform or by contacting our support team. Cancellation policies are strictly enforced to protect both guests and property owners.
Standard Cancellation Policy
Stay Formosa operates under a tiered cancellation policy based on the timing of your cancellation request. This policy balances flexibility for guests with protection for property owners.
More than 30 Days Before Check-in
Full Refund Available
- 100% refund of accommodation fees
- Processing fee of $25 will be deducted
- Refund processed within 5-7 business days
- No questions asked cancellation
8-30 Days Before Check-in
50% Refund Available
- 50% refund of total accommodation fees
- Cleaning fees are non-refundable
- Processing fee of $25 will be deducted
- Refund processed within 5-7 business days
7 Days or Less Before Check-in
No Refund Available
- No refund of accommodation fees
- All fees are forfeited
- Booking is considered final
- Travel insurance recommended for protection
72 Hours or Less Before Check-in
Strict No-Refund Policy
- Absolutely no refunds available
- No exceptions for any circumstances
- Full payment is forfeited
- Property is held exclusively for your booking
Special Circumstances
Weather-Related Cancellations
In the event of severe weather conditions that make travel unsafe:
- Hurricane warnings issued by National Weather Service
- Mandatory evacuation orders for the Orlando area
- Airport closures preventing travel to Orlando
- Full refund or rebooking options available with documentation
Medical Emergencies
For documented medical emergencies affecting the primary guest:
- Hospitalization of primary guest or immediate family member
- Doctor's note required for verification
- Case-by-case review for partial refund consideration
- Travel insurance strongly recommended for full protection
Military Deployment
Active military personnel with sudden deployment orders may receive special consideration with proper military documentation.
Booking Modifications
Changes to existing bookings are subject to availability and the following terms:
- Date Changes: Subject to availability and rate differences
- Property Changes: Treated as new booking with cancellation of original
- Guest Count Changes: Must not exceed property capacity
- Modification Fee: $50 processing fee for approved changes
- Rate Adjustments: Price differences apply for date/property changes
No-Show Policy
Guests who fail to check in without prior notification will be charged the full booking amount with no refund available. Properties may be re-rented after 24 hours of no-show.
Early Departure
No refunds are provided for early departure from the property, regardless of the reason. Guests are encouraged to purchase travel insurance for protection against unforeseen circumstances.
Refund Processing
When refunds are approved:
- Credit card refunds: 5-7 business days
- PayPal refunds: 3-5 business days
- Zelle refunds: Processed as new payment to guest
- Refunds issued to original payment method when possible
- Email confirmation sent when refund is processed
Travel Insurance Recommendation
Protect Your Investment
We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect against unforeseen circumstances such as illness, job loss, flight cancellations, or family emergencies. Travel insurance can provide coverage beyond our standard cancellation policy.
How to Cancel Your Booking
To cancel your reservation:
- Log into your Stay Formosa account
- Navigate to "My Bookings"
- Select the booking you wish to cancel
- Click "Request Cancellation"
- Confirm your cancellation request
- Receive email confirmation of cancellation and refund details
